There is something very powerful about the scripture in Isaiah 9:6:
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE." 
 
When I think of scripture verses pertaining to Christmas, I think of this one. In Jesus we have a Wonderful Counselor who leads us and directs us and who will never lead us astray; a Mighty God that is full or power and that no one can compare to; an Everlasting Father who is with us always and who loves us unconditionally; the Prince of Peace who quiets our hearts, give us strength and comfort when our world becomes overwhelming.
